Our Strategy
We support underserved people and communities to overcome stigma and embrace self-worth through co-creation, lived experience and inquiry-based stress reduction.
Together we transform internal stigma and shame into self-worth, self-agency and positive mental health.
We do this through three strategic pillars.
Transform
Creating change from the inside out.
We work alongside people and communities experiencing stigma, exclusion and discrimination to address the internal stigma and shame that can undermine self-worth, wellbeing and agency.
Our programmes are co-created with the people they are designed for and shaped by lived experience. Through Inquiry-Based Stress Reduction, peer support, creativity and reflective approaches, we create safe spaces where people can question deeply held beliefs, reconnect with their inherent worth and build confidence and resilience.
Transfer
Building the skills and leadership to make change last.
We believe sustainable change should be owned and led by communities themselves.
Through training, mentoring and long-term support, we invest in people with lived experience and local leaders, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver, adapt and grow programmes within their own communities.
By strengthening local leadership and capacity, approaches can continue to evolve and reach more people while remaining grounded in the communities they were created to serve.
Lead
Building understanding, evidence and momentum around internal stigma.
Internal stigma is often invisible and overlooked, despite its profound impact on mental health, wellbeing and people's ability to participate fully in their lives.
We combine research, lived experience and learning from our programmes to deepen understanding of internal stigma and what works to address it. We share that knowledge through research, publications, partnerships and wider learning, helping bring self-worth and internal stigma into conversations about mental health, human development, services and policy..
How We Create Change
Across everything we do, people and communities are partners, not simply participants.
Our work combines lived experience leadership, evidence-based interventions, creative and reflective approaches, adaptation to local contexts and engagement at multiple levels.
This means looking beyond individual change. We want people to experience greater self-worth, confidence, resilience and mental wellbeing; communities to become more supportive, empathetic and inclusive; and systems to better recognise internal stigma and translate evidence into practice.
At the heart of it all is a simple belief: everyone has inherent worth. Our role is to help create the conditions in which people can recognise it, reclaim it and build from it.
