Our Work
At Beyond Stigma, we work with individuals, communities, and organisations to address internal stigma and strengthen self-worth.
Our programmes are evidence-based, peer-led, and rooted in creativity, reflection, and lived experience. They are designed to be adaptable across contexts, cultures, and communities.
We offer a range of programmes and support that can stand alone or work together as part of a longer-term journey.
01

Wakakosha – “I’m Worth It”
Wakakosha is our core, evidence-based, peer-led programme designed to address internal stigma and strengthen self-worth. It is primarily delivered as a six-day residential course, combining Inquiry-Based Stress Reduction, emotional literacy, mindfulness, and creative methods such as storytelling, art, music, and movement.
The programme supports deep personal reflection while building collective strength through peer connection. Wakakosha is adaptable to local contexts and is often delivered alongside longer-term mentoring, communities of practice, and ongoing reflection spaces.

Timeframe:
Long-term programme (up to 36 months), adaptable by context
02
Beyond Stigma Peer Support Guide
The Beyond Stigma Peer Support Guide is a four-session, peer-led programme designed to support groups who want to continue working on internal stigma and self-worth. It builds on the foundations of Wakakosha and is ideal for established peer groups and community settings.
The guide provides a structured yet flexible framework for reflection, discussion, and skill-building, and has been designed to be culturally adaptable and accessible across different literacy levels and contexts.

Timeframe: 4 sessions (2–3 hours per session)

03
Self-Worth Experiential Workshops
Our Self-Worth Experiential Workshops are interactive, one-off sessions that introduce participants to Beyond Stigma’s core principles. They are often used as a taster to a wider programme of work or as a standalone experience.
These workshops create a safe, participatory space for exploring internal stigma, self-worth, and personal reflection through creative and inquiry-based activities.

Timeframe:
Half-day workshop (2–3 hours), with optional follow-up support
04
Expert Technical Support
We offer expert technical support and collaboration for organisations working on stigma reduction, advocacy, measurement, communication, research, and programme design.
Drawing on our experience across multiple countries and contexts, we work alongside partners to strengthen impact, embed internal stigma approaches into existing programmes, and support systemic and sustainable change.
Timeframe: From short-term support to longer-term consultancy and technical assistance
